PINOCCHIO

In these graphite drawings and acrylic-on-wood paintings, Pinocchio serves as both muse and stand-in for various states of human existence. As artist and curator Pam Posey has written, "Savage's Pinocchio is trapped in the spotlight and thoroughly exposed. There is no chance of redemption and no room for nostalgia. Savage's beautifully rendered drawings reveal the dark side of childhood fear and punishment."
