EVERYDAY ICONS

Drawing from the mundane objects that I encountered every day as a young mother, I discovered extended meanings which overlaid my observations. Scientific illustrations provided links between daily moments and timeless, grand schemes. The layered images on wood panel and frosted acrylic sheets are rendered in egg tempera, colored pencil and acrylic paint. Viewed as behind a veil, they lose focus as the viewer approaches like memories that seem clear only, upon closer inspection, to slip beyond our perception.
